Vets are battling to save a dog who nearly starved to death as he guarded his owner’s body for eight days.
Jack was found emaciated and badly dehydrated beside his pensioner mistress.
He’s now being looked after by an animal welfare charity but it’s feared he might not survive.
Ian Robb of Help for Abandoned Animals, who is caring for Jack at his home in Arbroath, said: “It’s touch and go.
